History of Onze Rust Primary School
Onze Rust Primêre skool het ontstaan toe Uitsig Laerskool en Onze Rust Laerskool na vele samesprekings in 2002 geamalgameer het. Die geboue en kleure van Uitsig laerskool is gebruik en Onze Rust se naam het behoue gebly.
Die skoolhoof was Mnr Jan Ackerman van Uitsig en Mnr André Van Tonder van Onze Rust. Mnr Van Tonder het ‘n pos by die Departement van Onderwys aanvaar.

Op daardie stadium, die vroeë 2000’s was Onze Rust ‘n Afrikaanse skool. Die
personeelkorps van elke skool het pragtig ingeskakel en gou is saamgewerk om ‘n uitstekende skool op die been te bring.
After a few years the learner totals started to dwindle. We started a parallel medium school in 2011. We quickly grew to a strong primary school with an excellent name to where we are today – with 950 learners.
Over the years, learners and their families came and went. Staff members also left our school.
At this stage we’ve got excellent staff members and a healthy school community.
We are looking forward to the future with a good history foundation.

To optimally develop learners in all areas through the latest teaching methods, including CAPS.
Leerlinge wat gelukkig en veilig voel, genot ervaar. Goed versorgd, gedissiplineerd en pligsgetrou is, entrepreneurskap uitleef, waardes aanvaar en ‘n selftrots het.

Dinamiese Beheerliggaam wat die skool eerste stel en waak oor etos, waardesisteme en beeld van die skool. Sorg dat gesonde finansiële beginsels toegepas word en geboue, terrein en toerusting doelmatig aangewend en in stand gehou word.
A dynamic School Governing Body which serves the school, it’s interests, etos and values. This includes sound financial principles and the maintenance and proper utilization of buildings, grounds and equipment.
