The application forms open for new learners on :
1 April 2024
Office hours for application forms : 07:00 – 13:00

> Gr. R applications forms are available at the Pre-primary school.
> Gr. 1 – 7 applications forms are at the Primary school, or can be downloaded.

Applications are done on original forms only.
All application forms must be accompanied by the required certified documents.

Parents are responsible for all copies. No copies will be made at the school.

Parents will be informed of the approval/non approval of the applications, 1 month after closing date – via SMS.

Step 1 – Download 1 application form.
Step 2 – Complete all fields on application form.
Step 3 – Email (admin@onze-rust.co.za) or submit completed application form, at the school reception.

• Applications strictly close 31 August 2024

Please ensure applications are completed in full and all relative documents are submitted

• After submitting the form to the school the school will contact you to inform you if your application was successful.

School Fees

  • NO CASH will be accepted at school.
  • All payments are to be made at your bank – paid in advance.
  • School fees must be paid from 1 January to 30 November every year – for 11 months.
  • Parents with financial problems are more than welcome to discuss this with the Principal.
  • NO PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES = NO TOURS and/or educational outings will be allowed.

Please note:

School fees are payable ONLY with Stop Order.
Please arrange with your bank for the correct amount to be deducted.
In advance – Payable for 11 months – R1150.00 p.m.

Important Information

Academic

Homework – and/or message book: Where applicable, each learner will have a homework and/or message book in which work and/or messages will be written.

All books (learning as well as writing) must be kept neat and must be looked after.

All books must be neatly covered as this serves as protection.

Damaged or lost books must be replaced by the parents.

On admission the learner will receive books from time to time as stipulated by the school.

When a learner leaves the school permanently (e.g. moves), all books must be handed in to the teacher

Parking & Transport

NO VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED WITHIN THE SCHOOL GROUNDS.

No learner may be dropped off on the school premises.

A friendly request that parents abide by the school traffic rules, as well as all other traffic rules the school may require.

Learners are also to abide by the school traffic rules.

Transport for your child to and from school is your responsibility and must be on time to and from school.

No child will be allowed to wonder around on the school premises/grounds after the last school bell. Should you or the transport be late, your child will be sent to the study class and an account for the study class time will be sent to you. (The safety of your child is important)

General Conduct

Each learner is expected to maintain and respect Christian norms, values and character.

Learners are requested to take responsibility of their use of language at all times – poor or foul language will not be tolerated.

Vandalism, theft, fighting, racism, smoking, the use of foul language or any conduct which may harm the school’s name, can lead to serious punishment, including the possibility of suspension or expulsion.

Electronic Equipment

Cellphones that are brought to school are at the owner’s own risk.

All cellphones are to be switched off during school and study hours.

Please leave all other electronic devices such as IPODS, MP3 players, PSP, etc. at home.

Should a learner’s cell phone be on during school time, it will be taken away from them and their parents are to come and sign for it, at the school office.

If any electronic appliance is stolen or lost, it will be for the parents account

School Visits

Your child’s academics are very, very important. Time is precious and flows like quicksand.

With the utmost respect, we therefore request your co-operation in respecting the school hours – time for learning – educating your child/ren.

Parents are to announce themselves at the school office where permission will be given to go through to the class.

Should you need to speak to a teacher, please make an appointment with them via Whatsapp or voice note – during break time or after school.

Arriving late at school is not permitted.

Learners have to be at school five minutes before school commences.

No learner is allowed to leave the school grounds without permission.

No parent will be allowed to visit a child’s classroom without permission beforehand from the office.

Parents are to sign their child / children out at the school office – should they leave during school hours for medical appointments which could not be made for after school hours.

A friendly request that all parents will at all time respond to circulars/SMS’s from the school. d6 Connect (communication medium)

Absence from school

Learners must have a reasonable excuse to stay away from school. Playing truant is a serious transgression.

If a learner is absent, the school must be notified before 09:00 the same day. It can be done by letter or telephone.

When a learner returns after an absence he/she must hand in a written motivation from his/her parents and/or medical certificate.

No extending of long weekends or holidays are allowed.
(going home early on Friday)

Should your child be absent for part of the day, you are requested to arrange with the Principal and the teacher. Parents are to announce themselves at the office to sign the absentee register for the child leaving earlier

Medical and/or other APPOINTMENTS ARE TO BE AFTER SCHOOL HOURS.
Appointments during school hours are to be kept to the minimum.
Parents are to sign their child / children out at the school office.

Should a learner be injured or sick, the teacher must be informed.
The teacher will then send a note to the secretary to contact the learner’s parents.

PARENTS ARE CONTACTED ONLY BY THE SECRETARY OR THE TEACHER.
No learner is to contact their parents during school hours to come and fetch them.
NO LEARNER MAY / WILL BE CALLED OVER THE INTERCOM for
Lunch, clothes, projects, messages, keys, etc.)
